Udaan: Ek Meetha Sapna

A Community Art Project

Udaan, ek meetha sapna is on a constant look out for creative and talented children. Our bunch of 12 children has become an inspiration in their own community, amongst their people, neighbours and so many more.....The Kanhai Village community not only participated with enthusiasm, they were extremely curious. They could relate with all the issues so closely, that they listened carefully and had deep rooted conversations!

Our enthusiastic visitors @ Good Earth could not believe what they were witnessing.....the fact that these children being from such humble backgrounds, could envision such intense issues of urbanisation, pollution, superstition, class-divide, dignity of labour, urban spaces and such; and express their thoughts and questions to the society through art, was a total high for them! Perhaps the small light of hope so passionately lit by these children will spread far and wide and help the social cause without a doubt. May our young artists grow leaps and bounds.

Our earnest and heartfelt gratitude to Honda 2Wheelers without whose support, this community project would have remained a distant dream for our children.

Sculpture

This 25 ft tall sculpture 'Seeds of Change', is a symbol of change, a strongly announced beginning that we are not giving up and we are not losing. There is Hope for a better future, fresh air to breathe, carefree walks to relax without any fear of accidents, a beautiful city where humanity is alive...and if not in a city of innovation like "Gurugram", then where?

Please visit the sculpture and promote sustainable transportation. Our message is 1 CAR = 10 Bicycles. There is every reason why cycling should be helped to enjoy another Golden Age.

UDAAN HELPED CHANGE THE FACE OF THIS SCHOOL TO HELP EDUCATE CHILDREN! 
This event wouldnt have been possible without Roshan Kumar, founder of Free Pathshala- an initiative where in they promote education amongst children of labourers and migrant workers. 
Udaan took up the challenge to fix this spot and change the face of this school. We painted the school and its surroundings to make it an exciting and clean place for kids to come, learn and grow. 
They can now call this place their own school, something they look forward to each day.

Fix an ugly spot

UDAAN FIXED A 200 METRE WALL AND MADE A MASTERPIECE OUT OF IT!

It's wonderful to see how so many passionate people came together to make a difference. The spot opposite Good Earth, Gurgaon was cleaned by the MCG and Udaan helped fix the 200 metre wall and made a masterpiece out of it! The event was a CSR activity sponsored by Honda in collaboration with the RWA of Malibu Towne. 
Udaan also helped in raising awareness on social issues that often remain ignored. This time we focussed on the Swach Bharat, Beti Bacho and Green India mission. Residents of Malibu Towne, Gurgaon along with volunteers and students from government schools took charge of their city!
The wall became a dumping ground for years. Hours of dedication transformed the space and created Magic!

Makeover in one of our schools "Disha" (Nulife foundation) Tikri village, with the help of our art educator Hima Bindu Mavuri and children of Disha School on their annual day.

Children were very excited to change their school and used very earthy tones to make the school more welcoming and a fun place to be in.

We loved how the design for the stairs came out!

Makeover in one of our schools "Government School, sector-14, Gurgaon", with the help of the children of the school and our wall artist and art educator Mahendra Nath Yadav.

Children were very excited to change their school and the rugged backdrop of bricks gave a very interesting finish to their artwork. 

We loved how they focussed on social issues through art.

Makeover and summer painting fun in one of our schools "Saksham Bal Vikas Sanstha, Gurgaon", with the help of the children, teachers and volunteers of the school.

We loved how they have used such a bright palette showcasing their confidence, love for the school and community. The rainbow provides them ray of hope and is a constant reminder that sky is the limit!

A surprise for children and teachers when they will join the school after vacations!
 

Paint our spaces and create a masterpiece

An initiative by Udaan: Ek Meetha Sapna along with Malibu Towne residents where children started their summer vacation not only interacting with nature in the morning but also with messages on environment conservation. They explored their creativity by painting trees with lime colours to protect from termite followed by painting old tyres to make a small minion installation and tyre swings. 

Everyone set out to spread the message of a “clean and green Malibu” and over 50 residents and their children took the initiative to save trees by painting their barks and adopting them. It was a special morning for children who came armed with colours, brushes and aprons. Parents were no less excited to participate in the two-day programme.

Fix an ugly spot

Udyog Vihar area near Nagarro office was a dumping zone before Udaan team went there. It's wonderful to see how so many passionate people came together to make a difference. The process started with cleaning the area and then painting the walls with beautiful motifs and earthy tones. Keeping the theme of cycling and sustainable mode of transportation in mind, we created some installations with bicycles and tyres to further create more awareness.

Confidence is building amongst children of Udaan as they painted their own school's music room independently with little guidance of our faculty. The abstract forms help us understand the evolved sense of art and their deep connection with music. Their efforts were hugely applauded by their principal, Neelima ma'am as well. 

Painting at MG Road, Gurgaon

Udaan EMS invites artists, children from various schools and local residents to contribute their creative visions to each project. In a 3 day event at MG Road Gurgaon, meaningful murals to ignite thought on various issues were made and were really appreciated by all. We were all blown away by the detail of the artwork, colours and depth of the vision that children brought to the table!

Painting at Sikandarpur Metro Station, Gurgaon

Team Udaan is delighted to share beautiful fresco at Sikandarpur Rapid Metro to promote sustainable transport for a greener Gurgaon! Children from different walks of life together have painted a wall to send message for cleaner, healthier and greener Gurgaon. Kids along with the teachers created different images like traffic jam, increasing air pollution and carbon emission. Further, messages like save time, save energy, relieve stress and many more were also an area of focus.

Paint a Wall

The team at Udaan EMS painted a wall at Nagarro office, Gurgaon on world environment day. We went with the mission of connecting people to nature and the Mural aims to do just that.

Without a healthy environment we cannot end poverty or build prosperity. We all have a role to play in protecting our only home: we can use less plastics, drive less, waste less food and teach each other to care.

Painting at DCP Traffuc Office, Gurgaon

Udaan's contribution towards road safety at DCP traffic office, sector-51, Gurgaon. Our team along with the children from various schools. The aim was to instil the correct behaviour in children from a young age and we believe that this will impact the rest of society. Road safety is an important issue and that art is a powerful medium through which to communicate it.

Painting Old Tyres

A wall done by udaan's artist, using old tyres. There are various ways you can recycle old tires and use them as art and planters. Children came up with so many great ideas! One can make any green area better looking even with simple methods like painting a few old tyres. It's cheap, it's good for the environment because the tyres get recycled.

Paint the Zebra Crossing

​

The team of Udaan in association with Nagarro is determined to paint the town with our most loved and fun designs at Galleria intersection. The children from various schools along with the faculty of Udaan came up with a unique concept to highlight the zebra crossing. They painted giant footsteps, which raised the awareness of using the crossing and road safety. The local residents also contributed their creative visions to the project.

Mural painted by udaan at Nulife, Disha school. A school’s physical environment has a powerful psycho-physiological impact on its students. The bright colour palette chosen by the children for their school has promoted creative surroundings that are conducive to studying and mental health.

Paint the Zebra Crossing at Raahgiri, Gurgaon

​

Road safety in Gurgaon took a creative turn with Udaan EMS. The designs varied from a visual description of a man and animals to provoke the citizens to think about the neglected issue of road safety. Such designs always cause curiosity and wonder. These zebra crossings have been put in place mainly at accident prone zones of the city.

Makeover in one of our schools "Saksham Bal Vikas Sanstha, Gurgaon", with the help of the children, teachers and volunteers of the school. We loved how they have used techniques and palette inspired by the Indian Folk Art showcasing their confidence, love for the school and community.
